Alas, it was not enough to threaten the Haglund/Haglund performance of '09.

A few more posts about how good I look, and the title is yours!

My road 5k PR (15:16) was on the original course. Short, right?

I always thought the original course was short by maybe 10-15 seconds. Maybe less though.

They claimed to have wheeled the course the day before the race (and that it was 5k), but who knows. I ran faster than I expected to, but in line with what I’ve run on similar courses (e.g. South Ardmore Park).
There’s obviously a difference between clockwise and counterclockwise, but I don’t know which direction they measured. Straight-up gmapping, which should be a slight overestimate comes out to 3.15mi.

I ran counterclockwise, which was the longer (ie wide) direction, so I feel good about leaving off the asterisk barring new evidence.

Pretty sure the course you guys did this year is different from the one Bernie and I ran. Ours was two loops.

It is different, I don’t remember it well but it was definitely just two loops. This one was accurate according to my gps, for whatever that is worth.

Ah. I skimmed over the “original course” part. Bernie had me worried.

Since this is a new course, doesn't this mean that you and Kelly have the course record?

I guess it does. So I'll call this weekend a wash: DGears knocked me off the Haverford top-10 mile list (by 0.01), BUT I gained a default course record at Feel the Love! Such is life as an "old-timer."
