Just found out I hadn't commented on this whole thread. Dodgers are looking good these days.

I'm rooting for whoever takes out the Los Angeles Dogs and will mark it down as yet another successful Giants baseball season.

This is an understatement! Best 50 game stretch in over a century, and on pace for one of the best records ever. Not to mention, they're 36.5 games ahead of the Giants. It looks like re-signing Chase Utley has really paid off for them!

The Phillies salvage a split with the Giants, though they're still 3 games behind (up on?) SF. It should be a close battle down the stretch.

So apparently Rhys Hoskins is like the best baseball player ever, right? Best athlete? Best human being?

The Giants can have it. I know it would be better for Philly to get the first pick/biggest draft budget, but it's pretty demoralizing to have the worst record 2 out of 3 years. Even the Process Sixers only finished with the worst record once! I'm hoping Hoskins and the other young hitters can propel them to a respectable 3rd worst.

I'm wearing it like a badge of honor. If you're going to be bad, why settle for half measures?

I just want everyone to be aware that the hated LA Dogs have lost 10 in a row and 15 out of 16.

I love baseball.

And Cleveland has won 18 in a row! Quite a season for streaks.

The Dodgers still have a 5 game lead on any other team, even after that streak.

This isn't entirely relevant, but came across something I remember reading last year and I wish the MLB could have fun:

The fact that a completely buttoned-down society like South Korea could have baseball players who (while still bowing to the umps at the beginning of the game) can actually have fun on the field and not pitch at each other's heads after is a lovely thing.

The KBO is consistently a source of really fun baseball from bat flips, to players literally jumping on to the top of the outfield wall to rob home runs, to catchers attempting to frame hilariously obvious non-strikes. In MLB, some unwritten rules moron would try to fight people doing that.

It seems like that attitude is changing in MLB, though maybe I'm wrong. I know that Odubel Herrerra batflips pretty much anything (including flyouts and walks) and no one has retaliated against him all year.
