NBA 2017-2018

Postby greg not hairball » Wed Oct 04, 2017 2:05 pm

New season, new thread. And new shameless post about fantasy basketball. Anyone want to join the Old Goat Fantasy BBall league? We have 9 guys currently, need at least a 10th but we're also willing to go up to 12. Come join the league that was too good for MG, Mush Mush, and Hildog's brother in law.

I'm up for joining, although I can't promise anything other than drafting all Sixers and forgetting about the league.

The team you're inheriting is actually named The Process! Also has Ben Simmons as a potential keeper

Joel Embiid learned the Dirk step. I'm so excited if this guy can stay healthy.

Also, Dario is better than that dumb fucker Malcolm Brogdon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2f-EJS ... e=youtu.be

I'm going to warn everyone beforehand that this is gruesome: https://streamable.com/j4yf3

And now Gordon Hayward is out for the season...(99% chance in my amateur PT diagnosis). As much as I despise all things Boston, I feel terrible for Hayward. Six minutes into his first game for his brand new team. A team that had a good chance of making the conference finals and potentially pushing the Cavs. Without Hayward, the Celtics are now pretty mediocre. They sacrificed a lot of their depth to bring in Hayward's contract and trade for Kyrie Irving. Now they have 2 really good players, several promising though unproven young players, and a nut punching, fan assaulting fat ass named Marcus Smart. I think the Cavs and Wizards will definitely finish with a better record than the Celtics. The Bucks and Raptors honestly might as well.

Woof, that sucks. Really takes away a lot of the opening night excitement.

That is gruesome. Out for the season seems like a best case scenario.

Yeah that sucks (also he's on my fantasy team).

Where's your deep Smart hatred come from Ivo? Just a useful scapegoat for your Boston hatred? The 10 minutes where he was posting up the whole Cavs team and then played great physical D on LeBron were highlights for me.

You don't punch Matt Bonner in the dick. It's just wrong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQy_Aj6i6GM

And last night Jeremy Lin ruptured his patellar tendon...What a terrible start to the season.

Somehow another major injury helps the Cavs. They're about to get another 1st pick in the draft.

Lakers looked awful in Game 1. Don't count out them getting the #1 pick and the Sixers getting to use it.

Also, this is why you're referring to Marcus Smart as "fan assaulting," right? http://www.espn.com/dallas/story/_/id/1 ... est-season
He obviously was wrong in pushing the guy, but 95% of the blame goes to the middle-aged white fan hurling racial epithets at a 19 y/o amateur athlete. I don't really hold that one against Smart.

Yeah, I think it was just fine that he punched that fan.

It looks like he might not even get the chance to suit up tonight to lose to the sixers. Celtics are about to be 0-3. Stevens is gonna be the first coach fired.
