Nationals 2017

Postby yung monet » Thu Nov 09, 2017 8:45 am

Any alumni/Friends of goats living in the St. Louis area or Southern/western Illinois? Nationals is in Elsah IL this year, and us current goats+bees are looking for places to stay next friday night (17th) on our way out to the course.

Good for you Roy. Once a Superfan always a Superfan!

Just a quick GO GOATS! Great performance at on Saturday. Your ten second spread between 1-5 is legend (wait for it) airy. Goat Television and Doc Morgan's videos have kept us west coasters in the loop. I trust someone will be broadcasting Nationals. After all we need to keep the Danny Hart "ride of his life" moments alive.

Yes, the nationals trip is on. We're staying in a "diy AirBnB," which is really just a landlord in between tenants that wants to make a bit of money. Amenities include: A roof, electricity, a fridge, and a toilet. Not sure about a sink. Should be a fun time for all.

Goat Television will be live onsite, provided we don't get shut down by the Flotrack for unauthorized streaming of the race to which they have """"sole broadcast rights."""" Fortunately, it is forecast to be a good bit warmer than regionals at a balmy 50 and drizzling. Broadcast will be managed by yours truly.

To clarify for those of us not regularly streaming, options for watching the race this weekend include:

Flotrack (subscription only? or free stream?)

and

GoatTV (Ustream?)

It's been some time since I've logged into either but want to make sure I got it all ready. Race starts 12pm local time? (1pm EST?)

It looks like Flotrack is only available for a $29.99 monthly subscription fee (make sure you unsubscribe after or they'll charge you $149.99 for the year). The race video might be available for free afterwards, not sure.

GoatTV will be onsite, we'll see if it can get off the ground. I imagine it would be pretty easy for censors to find it. If it does go through, I certainly wouldn't expect the saved video to stay up for long after.

There are conflicting times, but the host website says the men go off first at 11am (12pm EST), followed by the women at 12:15pm (1:15pm EST).
But to wear out your brain trying to make things into one without realizing that they are all the same- this is called "three in the morning."

Does anyone else have a Ustream (or other) account and a willingness to film the race? Double coverage? Dual-cast? Tri-cast? How many live feeds can we get?
