I am guessing this is somewhere on this board, but I think it might be worthy of a new post:

Read it and weep (or laugh until you cry)

The 80s were great. The team was sooooo bad. They had the 2nd lowest Dunkel rating in the US. Beaver - just down the road - had the lowest. So HC scheduled Beaver 2x/year.
Jim Ehrenhaft '87 said there was a guy on the JV team who could not dribble with his left hand. Jim thought he should try out rather than do indoor track, and I think one year he in fact did that.
It was rumoured that for hopeless games, some (more than one) of the varsity players took the court stoned. Judging by the way they played, you could believe it.

The only game I attended was when they played Wiedner, which always made the D3 final 4. Their coach was yelling at them the entire game, which I didn't understand - they blew out HC by 80 points or something, and there were several epic dunks. We were hoping for a smashed backboard. The stands were packed.

Thank god Cam Baker came to save the basketball team from embarrassment.
