Sunday June 10th, 2018: 8.5 miles
AM: 8.5 miles (70:40 min) (8:42/pace) East Rock Summit I ran with Nick and Nat first thing this morning, though Nat turned off when we got to the park. It was humid out but otherwise mild and pretty nice for running. It was fun to do the old East Rock loop again and especially fun to catch up with Nick. We kept the pace pretty easy the whole way, and my legs felt a bit tired but otherwise I really enjoyed the run.

AM: 12.5 miles (88:19 min) (7:19/pace) Lighthouse Point I met up first thing this morning with Andrew, Hayley, and Charlie of the NHRR as they passed through Wooster square en route to Lighthouse Point. Took a route through Fairhaven and the Annex and ultimately all the way to the park before heading back. A nice sunny morning but it was starting to heat up. Overall I felt pretty good, although the pace was faster than I was used to and it was the longest run I had done in a couple months. Given all that things went pretty well, and it was really nice to do a long run with other people for the first time in a while.

PM: 5 miles Prospect I ran with Nat this afternoon and the weather was near perfect, sunny and warm but with a nice breeze. We ran out through Yale and up Prospect, eventually coming back along St. Ronans and Whitney. Overall felt good and really enjoyed the run.
Wednesday June 6th, 2018: 7.5 miles
AM: 7.5 miles (57:12 min) (7:08/pace) East Shore I ran first thing this morning to kick off my birthday. It was overcast but otherwise fairly pleasant and I felt good once I got going. I ran over to the annex and East Shore park, and on the way had to stop a couple minutes at the water street bridge where it lifted to let a boat go under. Out in the park I stopped and did a set of 13 pull-ups, a pretty good benchmark for me. On the way back I also took a detour in Fort Wooster park (once I found the trail) and discovered it to be totally overgrown and almost impassable. Even more startling, the mysterious hole in the ground at the top of the hill that I remembered from when I was last there a few years ago was completely gone! Eerie. Overall a really enjoyable run.

PM: 4.5 miles East Rock Neighborhood I ran in the afternoon today with Nat. It rained a little at the beginning and was humid the whole way, so not perfect weather but could have been easy. Overall I felt pretty good it was nice and a bit odd to be running down all the old streets together. Still cannot believe I am really fully back in New Haven to stay.

PM: 7 miles Rhododendron Ran in the mid-afternoon, just a little bit after eating so I had some reflux issues the whole way. Otherwise I felt pretty good, with only some minor tightnesses in various parts of my legs. Was hoping to see some good blossoms on Rhododendron road, but somehow this was the only place the plants were not flowering. Regardless it was an enjoyable route, and I added on by looping on the wonderfully named Night Heron and Black Duck lanes. This was my last run on Long Island, and it probably should have felt poignant or emotional or something, but it really just felt like another run. Glad it was a good one, this part of East Setauket has been a phenomenal place to run from over the last couple years.

PM: 8 miles Kastenlauf Did the Kastenlauf out at Maltby lakes with the NHRR crew, 8 mile course although a lot of that was walked... Not the greatest experience this time, but could have been much worse, and at least the rain held off.
