Sunday: 6 miles AM: 0 miles PM: RCP 6 miles Took the trail down to Piney Branch, then stayed on the fairly falat trails. 60 degrees. Right ITB felt tight above the the knee but not too bad. Stretch, PT, decent amount of sit-ups & push-ups.

Summary: Fiasco w/ my contact lenses left me blind and hobbled my plans for watching conferences and then driving myself back to Goat City early to catch the bus. Caught a ride down with Donovan instead, which worked out nicely because I was able to go grocery shopping and get some work done.

Summary:
Summary: Snow day. Lots of snow coming down in the morning. There was email last night from the publisher saying that if it was nasty, everyone should work from home. So that's what I did.
Summary: Seven consecutive days with no running might be my longest break in 6 years, I'm not sure. It was 70 degrees yesterday and I went on a long walk around the city and saw all kinds of people out running, and I thought, I've got to do that tomorrow. After 5 miles I remembered why I had taken that time off. First my right ITB started to feel tight around the knee and then at one point it felt like my left ITB was tied in a knot at the hip. But it was nice to be running. Did some hip exercises I got from Doggy that will hopefully increase my strength. I'll probably run every other day to start back off.
Summary: Got up at 7 and stretched and did exercises for the hips. Nice morning light thanks to daylight savings.
Summary: I thought about getting up and running but it was too dark and cold. Still got up at 7 to stretch and do exercises.
Summary: Coleman decided last night to wake up at 5:15 this morning to go to a 6:15 pick-up hockey game, and we were talking about how great it was to get some exercise done in the morning. So I figured I ought to actually get up and run. Went down 13th to W and back. Started off pretty slow. Calves tight, could feel the pronation getting worse towards the end. Stretched well and did exercises.
Summary: Down 13th and then over to 11th when I hit a light. Cut back up to 14th on Euclid. Light snow that was only visible in the lit cones of streetlamps. Stretch/PT after.
Summary: Grant arrived around 1. No run and no PT.
Summary: Grant and I went out about 10:30 for an hour. Started out on the Valley Trail, then came back down south on the easier trails on the other side. ITBs never too bad. Afterwards stretched and did PT, and when we were leaving the apartment to head to the museums, they felt great. But after walking around for a couple hours, not so much.
Summary: Down 13th to Floria, Up 14th. Hips very tight at first. Tried to focus on running less on my toes. Stretch and PT.
Summary: Hips very tight yesterday, even just sitting at work. That means it's getting worse, not better. Took the day completely off--no PT.
Summary: Also push-ups and sit-ups, but not too many.

Summary: Cold again, but felt good. Right hip was bad all yesterday afternoon but not so bad while running. PT/Stretch.
Summary: I'm getting lazy. Decided I preferred to sleep in today, but I did so with the knowledge that I'll be going in to work late tomorrow so it will be easier to get out for a run then.
Summary: Went out on the trail from 17th to Park, came back on Park to 14th, north to Arkansas and then back down again on 16th and Spring. Pretty warm, very misty. Working from home today.
Summary: Went out around 6:30. I'd forgotten how much I love to run at the end of the day. Strange mix of cloudiness and sun; the wind was picking up and a few times I got hit with scattered rain drops. But very comfortable in shorts and t-shirt. Took the trail to Park, then went north to where Beach Ave. is closed off. Came back on the bike path and up Piney Branch to Spring & 16th. Can still feel some strain in my right ITB. I did some reading on strengthening exercises after and what I read recommended not running or biking for six to eight weeks to let it fully recover. So that may be what's in store. But I need to find a way to exercise in the interim.
