Summary: Limping a lot this morning - I'll probably have to be doing evening runs for a while, walking around all day seems to make the ankle better. Felt fine when I went out a little after 8. Had a couple beers at the festival so I was cramping up a little but I can make it through that for a mile.
Summary: Went out in the morning after doing a couple chores and loosening up the leg. Got out to the big tree but on the way back I had a sharp pain in my righta achilles. Think it's a holdover from the bike trip - started to get some tendonitis from coming in and out of the clips with that leg every time.
Summary: A couple miles from Matty's house before quiz night. Felt good for the most part. Left achilles felt a little weird by the end this time. Did some core work afterwards.
Summary: A half-mile in the hundred degree heat in the afternoon. My left knee felt worse than the leg - don't know what the deal was. Then that went away and the ankle was not feeling great.
Summary: Since my leg is always so stiff in the morning and I've been getting home late most nights, it's been hard to get out for a run. I was at home this afternoon, though, so at 7 I decided to head out, before remembering that I had left my shoes at Matty's last week. Then I realized I still had the shoes I was wearing the day of the accident, I just had to replace the laces they cut to get the shoe off my foot. Glad I got out--feel like I've been living a fairly unhealthy lifestyle lately and I felt the best I've felt since "running" again. Not sure if it's just a week and a half off or the little bit of ankle exercises I've done (I got a theraband last week) or the switch back to the Sauconys, but while my left leg felt a little weak, there was very little pain and I don't think it was affecting my stride. Beautiful night, cooling down pretty well. More ankle exercises afterwards, and a little bit of push-ups and sit-ups.
Summary: Went out for at noon for the same run as yesterday. Hot out but otherwise I felt good - felt like less pain the ankle at the end than the beginning. Right ITB a little bit tight, I think that's a holdover from the bike trip. If I keep stretching it out hopefully it will be okay. Ankle strengthening before and after, a couple sit ups and push ups after.
Summary: Got home from camping around 10:30. I was pretty dirty so I decided to get the run out of the way and not have to shower twice. Same two miles down Bayou, ankle strengthening and light core work afterwards.
Summary: Went out after orientation ended. Felt pretty good.
Summary: Meant to go out last night, too, but I forgot my shoes at Matty's again. Went out after I came home from working today. ANkle stiff--I've been lazy on the exercises--but otherwise no problems. Picked up the pace a little on the way back in.
Summary: I decided not to run this morning because it was too hot, and then as soon as I sat down and ate breakfast I found out about a social function that would probably prevent me from getting out this evening. So two miserable miles in the heat and post-breakfast digestion. Fun.
